Medicated Assisted Recovery Training for Peer Recovery Specialist
September 30 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
Medication-Assisted Therapy (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole-patient approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Much consideration of the use of MAT is due to the explosive increase in use, addiction, overdose, and accidental death of those using opiate drugs, including pain medications and heroin. Peer Recovery Support Workers are in many cases, the first responders to New Jersey’s opioid epidemic crisis. This training for Peer Recovery Support Workers will create a dialogue regarding the growing need for MAT.
