NJ-CARS is now accepting workshop proposals for our 4th Annual Recovery Ecosystems Conference on Friday, October 28th, 2022 from 9am to 3pm. The conference will be at the Conference Center at Mercer, located at 1200 Old Trenton Rd, West Window TWP, NJ.

We are seeking presentations on topics identified by our members as being pertinent to their continuing education needs. Presenters should be intimately familiar with recovery support services and recovery-oriented systems of care for substance use and co-occurring disorders. Workshops will be 45 minutes in duration.

All proposals will be considered, but we are specifically looking for workshops that fall within the following categories which have been requested via our Membership and Conference Committee:

Starting /Running A Recovery Organization
Examples: Grant Writing 101; Board Development & Management; Fundraising 101; Data Collection & Program Evaluation; Development of Practices & Policies; Ethical & Effective Peer Supervision; Collaboration with External Stakeholders; Community Organizing; Allies: Who They Are + Why They’re Important + How to Integrate Them.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Examples: Creating Anti-Racist Spaces; Building out LGBTQIA+ Services; Cultural Competency; The War on Drugs

Advocacy
Examples: Recovery Messaging 101; Legislative Advocacy; Speaking with Media; History of the Recovery Movement; History of the Peer Movement; Community Organizing; Allyship

Harm Reduction
Examples: What Is Harm Reduction?; Myths & Biases about Medication; Harm Reduction Strategies for Peer Recovery Specialists

Leadership
Examples: Self-Care; Servant Leadership; Change Management; Effective Communication; Time Management; Relationship Building & Management; Goal Setting

Collaboration
Examples: Family Recovery; Faith-Based Initiatives; Law Enforcement; Co-Occurring; Navigating “The System;” Collegiate Recovery + Recovery High Schools; Social Determinants of Health; Allyship; Treatment; Recovery Housing
